Amani’s Moolelo (Story):
Born in Barbados, AMANI (meaning peaceful) grew up in a large family with 6 brothers and sisters. Adventurous, curious and dedicated to helping people, Amani was accepted into the prestigious medical school and looking forward to a position at Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados. Life took an unexpected turn and Amani found herself in a dangerous relationship. Using all her knowledge and courage, she successfully left that relationship and went back to school to study criminal justice in an effort to become an advocate for abused women.
“Hopefull Handbags”, an organization dedicated to supporting women of domestic abuse, was founded by Cathlene Miner as a tribute to her Grandmother. Now, a global effort, Hopefull Handbags provides shelter, education, training, support and empowerment to thousands of women worldwide. “Together We Are Stronger!”
Proceeds go directly to Hopefull Handbags, Raising Hope, Help, and Support to Survivors of Domestic Abuse. Start your Journaling Journey with journaling tips here.
